While there are days when I want to channel my inner Bruno Mars and “not do anything” reality often makes that feel impossible
This past weekend, I took a well needed day off to do not one thing. Well, I was technically still “on call”, but it was a home call in the comfort of my very cozy home. So, yes, aside from that, I took the day off and literally put not one thing on my to-do list.
Below is a summary of what happened:
-Realized I need a quiet moment to center my mind and check in.
-Reminded myself that I am worthy and matter even when I am not fulfilling a laundry list of tasks prescribed by the powers that be around me.
-Reflected on where I have been, where am I know, and where I would like to go.
-Took time in solitude that very meaningful, sobering, freeing, and exciting
-Tapped into my inner child and creative side
-Tried something new
-Learned how to continue to show myself grace, love, and compassion
-Learned to embrace me, what God has given me, and celebrate what God is doing in the lives of others.
All in all, it was an amazing day, and I hope to have a moment like that again soon.
When was the last time you spent the day with yourself?
